Protecting resources and the environment, treating people with fairness: To us, corporate social responsibility is more than an entrepreneurial mind-set. Without shipping, globalization would have never come into existence.
The Code of Conduct is based on the company policy and the UN Global Compact which we have signed up to in 2012. It defines the collective understanding of proper legal and ethical conduct at Zeaborn Ship Management. The company expects its management and all employees on board and ashore to conduct all business activities in full compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations all over the world. Moreover, the Code of Conduct reflects the common ethical standards at Zeaborn Ship Management.
Based on the UN Global Compact the Code of Conduct for Suppliers defines Zeaborn Ship Management’s basic requirements applying to procurement in the areas of human rights, working conditions, environmental and business integrity. Zeaborn Ship Management expects its suppliers and subcontractors to respect the principles described in the Code of Conduct for Suppliers as well as declared in the UN Global Compact and to implement at least equivalent standards in their own business.

United Nations Global Compact - Communication on Progress
We joined the United Nations Global Compact in April 2012. By signing up for the initiative the company commits to align social, ecological and economic aspects and publish their activities in an annual progress report. This voluntary commitment to responsible corporate citizenship focuses on ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
The Management Board of Zeaborn Ship Management reviews the company’s environmental statement regularly and strives for continuous improvement. An important part of the company’s Code of Conduct for all employees and for our suppliers covers the environmental aspects of Zeaborn Ship Management’s business.
